Actor Ben Affleck is not only a Daredevil on the big screen, but it seems on the poker table as well. Damon stars as Jason Bourne in the succesful Bourne trilogy movies, and his success follows him in poker games.
Apparently, one of Damon's game buddies is none other than sexiest man alive George Cloony. Cloony also co-owns Las Ramblas which is due to be completed this year. Aside from Damon, he also plays with Ocean's 12 co-star Brad Pitt.
Funny Friend Matthew Perry guest starred in the Celebrity Poker ShowdownTV show. It was said that he also made an appearance at the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas.
Spiderman Tobey Maguire was not swinging so hot when Affleck beat him in the mentioned Commerce Casino's California State Poker Championship. But just like his superhero counterpart, Maguire is not one to give up. He eventually had his own victory in October that same year at the Hollywood Park Casino. Maguire is also fond of holding poker games in his own private Hollywood home. In attendance are other hot celebrites such as Robert Downey Jr. and the vampy Sharon Stone.
Tennis star Andy Roddick is also fast gaining points in the poker rooms in Las Vegas.
Actress Jennifer Tilly is holding up the torch for women poker players in Hollywood. In 2005, the voluptious star won the World Series of Poker, the Ladies' No-Limit Texas Holdem and the World Poker Tour Ladies Invitational Tournament. Tilly also has boyfriend, professional poker player Phil Laak, to thank for her impressive poker resume.
The number of Hollywood celebrities excelling in the world of poker is fast increasing. More than a business venture, the rich and famous seem to regard the game as a great way to relax and unwind. Of course, the competitive aspect of the game is also a great temptation, as more and more celebrities are joining (and winning) in poker tournaments.
